Details: The National Mathematics Summer School is a two week residential school held each January in Canberra. It is aimed at talented students of mathematics who have just completed Year 11 Mathematics.
The National Mathematics Summer School is an activity of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) and the Australian National University.Further information is available on the AAMT website or on the National Mathematics Summer School website.
The CMA coordinates the selection of students from the ACT who wish to attend the National Mathematics Summer School, based on the strength of their application.
CMA offers a subsidy of $400 towards the cost of attending the summer school and there may be other scholarship assistance available depending on a student's circumstances.
There are places for two attendees from ACT and CMA will also nominate two reserves. These students are then put forward to the NMSS Director for consideration of a place at the NMSS.
Current ACT Year 11 mathematics students who are interested in attending the summer school next January should complete a self-nomination form. Click here to download. Students must also provide a recommendation from their teacher.
